FIX COMPUTER PROBLEMS WITH SMARTPCFIXER

Having a computer that is so slow it hardly seems to work can be infuriating. Sometimes it feels like the best solution would be to throw the screen against the wall. But there is a better way to fix computer problems, one that doesn’t involve you sweeping up the broken pieces after you vent your frustrations.

There are a lot of solutions that are offered on the internet to solve your computer troubles. Some of them are great, and some of them are as worthless as the bloatware that is probably giving your computer such a hard time. In this installment of Lifegooroo’s informal survey of the best software designed to fix computer problems we looked at SmartPCFixer by LionSea Software.

SmartPCFixer has been around since 2002. SmartPCFixer is the easy way to optimize your computer. SmartPCFixer bills itself as a one-program solution that can keep you from getting slowed down by blue screen, error messages, junk files, and lag. LionSea Software’s program is designed to make all of the problems that are slowing your computer down basically a three-button task. You just run it, complete the Quick Scan, and when the results come up listing all of the issues that are found that need to be fixed it just takes the click of one button to repair them all. Smart PC Fixer can do all of the regular computer maintenance that your system needs to stay in great condition without you. Starting up doesn’t have to take

SmartPCFixer does all of the difficult computer tasks that can be confusing or intimidating for many computer users. From defragging your harddrive and checking the disk for errors to cleaning the registry and updating the operating system, SmartPCFixer is kind of like a little IT department of your very own.

SmartPCFixer works with both the Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. After you get the software, your license key is sent directly to your mailbox. From there all you have to do is set up your account and you’re ready to clean up your messy hard drive.

What we liked: There is a pricing plan available for either one computer ($38.97) or for three computers ($48.97). At only a ten dollar difference in price, that means the multiple computer option lets you protect all of the computers in your house for a mere fraction of the price for each machine. And if even that doesn’t make you happy, LionSea has a generous return policy, that will refund your money on request within the first sixty days that you own the product.

What we didn’t like: Any support problems that you run into can be taken up with the support desk online. That’s not a problem in itself, but since support requests are only handled through email, you can’t expect to get an immediate response if something goes wrong. That can be a little frustrating, especially when something is going wrong.

If you’re sick of your slow computer holding you back, Smart PC Fixer is an affordable way to get things running smoothly again.

THE ANDROID APPS THAT DRAIN YOUR BATTERY

We all know that cellphone batteries die out quickly. Have you ever wondered why?

Many factors could affect the life and functionality of a phone battery, including outside temperature, age and the software installed on the device they operate.

The antivirus experts at AVG recently published a report reviewing the apps for Android that drain the most battery life and slow down your phone’s overall performance.

High on the list of power-sapping software are, first and foremost, all the pre-installed apps that come with your phone. The worst offenders were found to be the “Beaming” and “Security Policy Updates” apps.

The Facebook app is highly draining both to battery and the utility of a smart phone, with Waze close behind.

In terms of data guzzling – which can wind up costing you money when you have to pay for extra data from your cellular Internet provider – social networking apps Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr were the worst. Spotify also ranked high on the data-abuser list.

Among game apps, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Candy Crush Saga, and Pet Rescue Saga ranked as the top three most battery-draining. Supercell’s highly popular Clash of Clans and Boom Beach wasn’t far behind.

A number of adjustments could help you improve your phone’s battery life. Firstly, try manually dimming the screen’s brightness. Secondly, be sure to always close any apps which you are not using at the moment – every phone has a different way of doing this that isn’t always obvious to a new user. Turning off location services will save battery life as well.

DEALING WITH A PASSWORD LOCKED COMPUTER

While some people would prefer to go through life without admitting it, almost every person has had to deal with a situation where they are locked out of their computer.

It’s a frustrating experience, and unless the person knows what to do, more problems can arise if the situation is not handled properly. This article will help you get a better idea on what to do.

The Requirements of a Password

Obviously, the best thing that you can do in order to avoid such a situation is always remember your password. However, what with technology becoming more advanced and more people becoming knowledgeable in how computers work, there will always be a risk of someone trying and succeeding in accessing information that you would rather be kept secret.

Such a reason is why every system, no matter if it is a simple website or an operating system, contains a password facility that encourages every user to create a password that you can remember yet is hard for anyone else to guess.

For some people, the two requirements are somewhat conflicting, which in turn forces some people to stick with simple passwords only. Somehow you have to do both if you want your information kept safe and secure.

How It Gets Locked in the First Place

There are several causes that make a person unable to unlock their computer. The most common one is the person forgetting the password. This happens a lot usually when the password is very complicated.

Another cause is that you accidentally mistyped when you created the password, most often being because you pressed the wrong key while typing.

Still, no matter the reason, it all ends up with your computer being locked up. Many people take to writing their password down somewhere safe. Such an act often results in the safe place being promptly lost when it is really needed.

Again, this same method for reinforced memory will not do you any good if you misspelled the word upon its creation.

Solutions to Unlocking the Computer

Thankfully, ways to getting around this problem have been developed. The two main ones are:

Using a password resetting program.
Password resetting programs can be found in many places, both on the Internet and in computer software stores. Their main function is to reset the computer system’s password without touching the rest of the computer, such as the files and any other software on it.

The prices vary according to where you buy them and who make them. Some comparison will be needed before you make a final decision.

Getting help from a professional computer technician.
Thanks to technology becoming more and more advanced, there have been a steady surge of people who specialize in computers. Such a person works well as a solution to unlocking a computer.

Despite the more personalized interaction that you receive with them, some people find it hard to trust them with a personal computer. There will always be the possibility of something going wrong and some parts of your computer being affected.

THREE BIG MONEY MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

No one wants to be in financial trouble but it happens so easily. All it takes is one or two bad decisions and suddenly you’re writing checks that bounce, the bank is foreclosing on your house, and your life is falling apart. Here are the three biggest money mistakes to avoid and what to do if they happen to you.

Student Loans

More than good grades, student loans are the gateway to higher education for most Americans. Here’s the catch: the debt you rack up for school can’t be discharged it in a bankruptcy, so no matter how broke you get, you still have to pay for it. Also, it isn’t clear from the start how high your monthly payments will be on this loan. Or if college will mean a high paying job. Sorry, new grads.

Credit Score Ignorance

People who rack up a lot of credit card debt probably aren’t aware that they have a miserable looking credit score that is getting uglier with each missed payment. This kind of ignorance can really make them suffer when they try to pay for a car or house.

Spending Instead of Saving

When people have extra money they usually want to do something fun with it. They spend it. When a crisis rolls around like a major home repair or a health emergency, they don’t have any money in the bank to fall back on. Don’t let it happen to you.

If you do get caught by an emergency and need to get a hold of some cash fast to pay the bills, LoanPocket can help you. It’s the easiest way to get the liquidity back into your bank account. All it takes is a few steps:

Filling out a simple application online
Waiting just a few minutes for approval
Watching the funds roll into your bank account the next business day
Even if you have a bad credit score LoanPocket can help. It’s safe too, with 256-bit SSL encryption technology. It may make the difference between being able to pay for an emergency and making another money mistake.

A NEW WAY FOR ARTISTS TO MAKE MONEY SELLING ART

If you’re an artist or a craftsperson, you may be able to create great looking art, but still struggle to find someone who is willing to buy any of your work. You know firsthand why someone came up with the name “starving artist.” For many artists, trying to make money selling art is a depressing struggle.

All artists have costs to cover when creating new projects. Depending on what medium you work with you could spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars just trying to make something beautiful. Painters, for instance, have to canvases, brushes, paints, studio space, cleaning tools, and a lot more to buy. These materials aren’t cheap, and even if that painter does manage to sell the painting, the profit may not cover the out-of-pocket costs. For any kind of artist, there is a chance they will spend more money making a piece of art than selling it.

Steve Popkin was one of those artists. His specific medium was glass working. He wasn’t the best glass artist out there, but he was good. Except he never made any money. He could never get anyone to pay for the glass art he was making. The artwork he did move was either undersold or given away as gifts. He was tired, and he was going broke. Most of all he was frustrated. There were other artists who didn’t have his struggles with money. What were they doing that he wasn’t?

Steve decided to go into research mode. He looked into everything that these profitable artist were doing that he wasn’t. What he found out opened his eyes to making money in the art world. Steve was shocked to find out that selling artwork wasn’t about the how good the art was at all. The reason some artists were making money was because they were marketing themselves better. Steve applied what he learned and he was soon able to make his glass art sell.

But since so many of his artist colleagues were still struggling to sell their work, Steve decided that he shouldn’t keep what he found out to himself. He’s collected it all in a new course he calls How to Sell Your Art Without Selling Out. This is an art marketing course for the thriving artist who wants to know how to do both: make art and make money.

This affordable course does what the art schools or drawing classes never teach you: how to market your work. The course contains an e-book with audio that will take you step by step through the ins and outs of marketing your work in the art world.

For an artist looking to make money this program is a necessary investment in their art. Artists who follow the “art for art’s sake” motto, may not find the program fits their needs. But remember, artists have been selling their work and making art history since paint first got mixed. That’s the central message in How to Sell Your Art Without Selling Out.

You can be a thriving artist with How to Sell Your Art Without Selling Out.

THE TOP 5 REASONS NOT TO SKIP BREAKFAST

Remember when your Mom used to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? She might not have been too far off. Even as an adult you’ve probably heard a bunch of theories from friends and colleagues, explaining why breakfast is so crucial for you. Scientific research over the years has also taken a great interest in the popular claim that missing the first meal of the day can be harmful to one’s health. Your mom probably isn’t a licensed nutritionist – but the experts have weighed in and it turns outs out that she was right! You definitely should NOT skip breakfast – and here are the top 5 reasons why:

1. Breakfast boosts your memory
A study in the Journal of Adolescent Health that followed 319 teenagers (ranging from 13-20 years old) concluded that “high energy intake from breakfast had a beneficial effect on immediate recall in short-term memory evaluated on the whole sample.”

Similarly, the Journal of Physiology and Behavior found that spatial and short-term memory in primary-school aged kids was improved by eating foods like oatmeal at breakfast time.

All of those findings apply to adults, as well.

2. More energy
A high fiber, low-carb breakfast will lessen feelings of fatigue throughout the day, a 1999 study in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition found.
Consuming whole-grain breads and cereals (with a minimum of 4 grams of fiber per serving)  in the morning gives your body fuel for the entire day. For the committed coffee drinkers among us: protein in the body gives caffeine a substance to bind with – providing maximum energy!

3. Breakfast is a natural antidepressant
Out of 144 volunteers in a 1999 study published in the Journal of Psychology and Behavior, those who ate breakfast cereal before research sessions came with a better mood and disposition than those who did not. Basically, food in the A.M. can lessen irritability and aggravation.

4. Breakfast is a calorie burner
You don’t need to go to the gym in order to burn calories! Eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day  increases your body’s metabolic activity and keeps sugar levels in the body steady. Harvard University studied 17,000 men and concluded that “that those who frequently ate breakfast cereal — both refined grain or the whole-grain types — consistently weighed less than those who rarely or never ate breakfast cereal.”

5. Better concentration
Along with energy levels and memory, a person’s capacity to concentrate is also improved by eating a morning meal. During the night, the human brain’s supply of fuel, glucose, is greatly reduced. Breakfast replenishes those levels once again. In 2008, the publication Indian Paediatrics found that “middle-school students who ate breakfast every day had better attention, concentration, memory, and school achievement than those who consumed breakfast only sometimes or never did.” Foods like eggs, grains, yogurt and fruit, which make up a healthy, balanced breakfast, according to research, keep “blood sugar levels steady and allow optimal cognitive function throughout the day.”

5 HEALTH FOODS YOU NEED TO STOP EATING RIGHT AWAY

What you are about to read might wind up ruining your next meal, but there is something you need to know about the “healthy” foods that you’ve been eating: they’re probably doing more harm to your body than good. What are these so-called health foods, what makes them so bad for you. Read on to find out.

Any Food That’s Labeled “Low-Fat”
These labels are as deceptive as the insidiously misleading word “lite” that you see on some products. The problem with these products is that removing the fat also removes a lot of the flavor. Food companies make up for this by adding things that make the food taste better, but rob it of all its health benefits: sugar and salt.

Bottled Smoothies
These aren’t the smoothies that you make at home in your own blender. Unless you watch someone put the smoothie together for you, what you are drinking is a product that is full of sugar and other harmful additives. The health benefits that you get from a smoothie that gets chopped up in front of you are all lost in the mass production process. Big companies use fruit juice instead of whole fruits to make these drinks. The problem with that is that fruit juices lack the healthy benefits that come with whole fruits like fiber thought they keep all the sugar.

Tofu and Other Soy Products
Though eating tofu and soy is not a problem for everyone, there is a reason to be cautious. Though it can provide protein and help lower cholesterol, tofu and soy pose a risk of increased risk for breast cancer both in men and women. It also can harm the development of children in utero. The worst part about the negative health effects of soy is that it is marketed as a superfood. The truth is that it’s not so super after all.

Granola and Granola Energy Bars
Whole grains, fiber boosts, protein—what’s not to like about granola and granola energy bars? The big problem is that granola can be so tasty, and it’s presumed health benefits so great, that people tend to overeat when they snack on it. Add to the sugars that come with the other tasty additions to it—things like chocolate chunks and fruit bits—and you are getting a lot more calories than just the fiber benefits.

Enriched Water
When you buy a bottle of water that says it has been enriched with vitamins and nutrients, you might as well be drinking a glass of Kool-Aid with a vitamin dropped into it. These waters come packed with sugary additives. And the amount of vitamin that is dissolved in the water is most likely too low to make up for the regular amount you should already be getting through other means, like supplements and regular diet. Enriched water is good marketing, not good for you.
